I teach two modules on the Foundation Degree in Business & IT at Lewisham College since September 2007. The degree is accredited by the University of Greenwich and after 2 foundation years at Lewisham College students can progress into the 3rd year at the University of Greenwich to obtain a BSc.
I teach the following modules:
- First Year
- Communication Systems 1 - very practical with 8 assessed practical lab sessions based around PC building and networking.
- Computer Systems and Internet Technologies 1 - less practical than CS1 with focus on HTML, JavaScript and business & legal issues assessed via end of year exam.
- Second Year
- Computing and Network Systems - more theoretical than 1st year; includes binary & hexadecimal maths, assembly programming, operating system & networking theory. Assessed via coursework and end of year exam.
I have completed the PTLLS Level 4 teaching qualification course.
